Membership in The Symphony Chorus is voluntary and annual auditions are held for our singers each year with pieces selected from the upcoming season repertory. Choral Arts Academy

If you attended the Choral Arts Academy this summer, you are only required to sing For Unto Us a Child is Born.

Contract/Paid Singers

For those wishing to be considered for a contract/paid singer position, a 10 minute slot should be requested at the time you schedule your audition. At the audition you will be required to sing a selection of your choice, in addition to the Schicksalslied excerpt and For Unto Us a Child is Born.

NEW THIS SEASON!

Four candidates are being considered this season for the open position of Choral Director with The Santa Fe Symphony. The first candidate is Carmen Flórez-Mansi, Guest Choral Director for Handel’s Messiah in November. Carmen has a long history as a Music Director with various choral arts groups in The Santa Fe community, including The Symphony. The three additional candidates who will appear as Guest Choral Directors during the course of this year are Kathlene Ritch and André GarcíaNuthmann (additional candidates TBD). Each candidate will be evaluated at the end of this season.

Don’t miss our acclaimed annual performance of Handel’s Messiah, featuring the full Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus, and this year led by our new Principal Conductor Guillermo Figueroa. Included in the lineup this year, are guest soloists Mary Wilson, soprano; Daryl Freedman, mezzo-soprano; Joshua Kohl, tenor; and Joseph Beutel, bass-baritone.
