Anne Karlstrom maintains a violin studio near UNM in Albuquerque and is a Coordinator with the University of New Mexico Suzuki Lab School, where she teaches Suzuki repertoire classes, Music Mind Games, and music literacy classes, as well as supervising intern teachers. In 2008, in an effort to introduce her own students to chamber music, Anne started Amigos Musicales, a summer chamber music program for elementary, middle school and high school students. She is an active member and two-time past-President of the New Mexico chapter of the American String Teachers Association, receiving ASTA’s “Kudos” award in 2013. Anne has been a violinist with The Santa Fe Symphony since 1993. She likes swimming and walking, and you’ll probably see her out walking on concert days in Santa Fe. She has two grown children, both of who play violin or viola professionally.
