Application—2023 Inaugural Concerto Competition

Thank you for your interest in The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus’ Inaugural Concerto Competition. One $20 payment secures the admission of your application for the competition. We recognize the potential financial and logistical difficulty in applying to a competition of this nature. Students needing assistance are encouraged to contact us at  competition@santafesymphony.org. It is our intention to make this competition as accessible as possible to students throughout New Mexico.

Concerto Competition

  • Enter the email address for which you would like to receive communication about your application.
  • Junior Division is open to applicants aged 14-18 who are currently in high school. Junior Division applicants should choose one (1) movement of a classical-era concerto (Mozart, Haydn, or similar). Transcriptions for alternate instruments are allowed.
  • Senior Division is open to applicants aged 18 to 22. Senior Division applicants should choose one (1) movement of a concerto from the standard repertoire for their instrument. The Santa Fe Symphony reserves the right to disqualify repertoire which is inaccessible in size, style, or rental/loan availability.   • Please provide the title of concerto, movement number, composer, name of accompanist, or any other relevant details.
  • Please upload a public (listed or unlisted) audition video between 5 to 7 minute in length to YouTube, and share the YouTube url of your performance in box above. NOTE: Soloist and instrument should be fully in the frame throughout the performance. Many tutorials are available for uploading YouTube videos, such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtF2AgFSLAw
