Welcome to our 40th Anniversary Season
2023–2024
Celebrating 40 years of bringing great music to life!
This season, we mark 40 years of live classical music, 40 years of star power onstage, and 40 years of caring for our musicians and our community. This is no small feat. But thanks to our loyal supporters, we are about to kick off yet another year of great music with our world-class orchestral musicians and a season to remember—our celebratory 40th Anniversary Season.
The Santa Fe Symphony Wind Quartet is coming to Fancy Town! Immerse yourself into the layers of musical conversation—as seen in chamber music—at Enchanté. Discover a world of enchanting works written by diverse composers including Karl Edward Goepfart’s “Wind Quartet,” Jenni Brandon’s “The Sequoia Trio,” Jacques Ibert’s “Deux Mouvements,” Claude Debussy’s “Syrinx,” Malcolm Arnold’s “Divertimento,” Eugène Bozza’s “Trois pièces pour musique de la nuit,” and Alyssa Morris’ “Motion.”
In Celebration of Earth Day, Oceana presents Native American composer Jerod Tate’s Chokfi’ (Rabbit)—Sarcasm for String Orchestra and Percussion, Handel’s Water Music, and Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme, introducing cellist Gabriel Martins, 2020 Sphinx Competition First Prize winner. Rounding out the program is Stella Sung’s Oceana featuring compelling multimedia visuals by filmmaker Annie Crowley.
Join us for this once-in-a-lifetime SFS Strata chamber concert during our final weekend of the 40th Anniversary Season! Presenting GRAMMY® Award-winners Ana María Martínez—one of the foremost sopranos of her time—and pianist Craig Terry, along with Music Director Guillermo Figueroa on violin and The Santa Fe Symphony String Quartet, Amor! is not to be missed.
