Born in Chicago, E. Franklin “Frank” Hirsch graduated from Yale University in 1954 with degrees in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, then served in the Air Force until 1956. During his forty-some years working for the Franklin Picture Company in Chicago (founded in 1884 by Hirsch’s grandfather), Hirsch served as a board member and trustee for several local charitable and municipal organizations. Since moving to Santa Fe, he has continued this service, currently assisting the Galisteo Planning Committee as well as acting as the Clerk for the local Society of Friends Future Planning Committee.
Frank currently serves as President of The Symphony’s Board of Directors. Besides attending concerts with his wife Shirley, Hirsch’s interests include golf, skiing, traveling, and stone sculpture.
