This season, we are presenting a new series and a new, more intimate opportunity to share the experience with some of our brilliant guest artists—two Concert Recitals will feature world-famous performers in stunning solo performances at The Lensic during the week before their appearance with the full Symphony Orchestra.
The Symphony’s second in our new series of Concert Recitals features the return of outstanding Grammy-award-winner Jason Vieaux, a contemporary and virtuosic classical guitarist. Besides pieces by some of the masters of the classical guitar repertoire, his recital will also feature guitar adaptations ranging from J. S. Bach to Duke Ellington.
“virtuosic, flamboyant, dashing and, sometimes, ineffably lyrical.”

“perhaps the most precise and soulful classical guitarist of his generation.”

OLGA KERN
On October 13 at 7:00 pm, the brilliant pianist Olga Kern again graced The Lensic’s stage for the very first of this inaugural series of Concert Recitals, just days before she rejoined the full Symphony Orchestra. The recital featured works by Scarlatti, Beethoven, Rachmaninov, and Scriabin.
“An absolute whiz at the piano.”

“Call it star quality—music likes Kern the way the camera liked Garbo.”
