2022–2023 Season—A love letter to Santa Fe!
Embrace a brand-new season with us this fall, filled with exciting collaborative engagements and award-winning guest talent—not to mention the outstanding orchestral and choral musicians of YOUR Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus. In addition to beloved masterworks by Beethoven, Berlioz, Haydn, Bartók, Rimsky-Korsakov, Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky, and more, experience our renewed commitment to female, minority, and 21st century composers; new performances with local and national institutions such as the Santa Fe Opera, Sphinx Organization; and the Santa Fe Youth Symphony, as well as concerts that uniquely encompass Santa Fe’s rich cultural history.
Our 39th Season represents our “love letter” to you—our loyal friends and patrons. September launches this amazing lineup of events with A Thousand Nights, bringing you the fiery conducting prowess of guest conductor JoAnn Falletta and stunning violin virtuoso Nikki Chooi. In October, we proudly present Firebird—one of the most exciting programs of the season featuring virtuoso pianist Kenny Broberg, winner of the 2021 American Pianist Awards and Christel DeHaan Classical Fellowship. In partnership with the American Pianists Association, The Symphony is thrilled to introduce Broberg for two brilliant works—César Franck’s enchanting Symphonic Variations and Ernst Von Dohnányi’s delightful and witty Variations on a Nursery Tune. Rounding out this afternoon of great music is Igor Stravinsky’s magical Firebird: Suite—the first international success of his career. Handel’s Messiah rings in the holiday season, followed by holiday pops at Sounds of the Season and our return on Christmas Eve for A Night at the Opera in collaboration with the Santa Fe Opera in December.
