Subscription Series | The Lensic | Principal Conductor Guillermo Figueroa

Principal Conductor Guillermo Figueroa leads us into another year of world-class performances in celebration of our exciting 35th Anniversary Season!

Performing the famous and exquisite “Bach Double,” Sirena Huang, winner of the Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition

is joined by none other than Elmar Oliveira—the first violinist to ever receive the coveted Avery Fisher Prize and the only American violinist to win the Gold Medal at Moscow’s Tchaikovsky International Competition in 1978.

Then, Sirena Huang showcases her supreme talent with Barber’s spellbinding Violin Concerto.

And in finale, we close with Tchaikovsky’s most celebrated masterpiece, his intensely personal and final

symphony, “Pathetique.”

impeccable technique ... deeply expressive phrasing ... and poetic weight ...
