Carla Fabris, Principal Harp


Swiss-American harpist Carla Fabris is an active performer of orchestral, solo, and chamber music, as well as a passionate music educator. She is currently the Principal Harpist of The Santa Fe Symphony and the New Mexico Philharmonic. As a performing artist, Carla has played with many groups including Tucson Symphony, Phoenix Symphony, Opera Parallèle, San Diego Symphony, and the San Francisco Symphony.

From 2022-2025 she was the Adjunct Harp Professor at the University of Arizona School of Music. Carla is active within the harp community, serving as President of her local American Harp Society chapter since 2021. Carla began her harp studies with Gabriela Blasko at the Musikschule Konservatorium in Zürich, Switzerland. She went on to study with Dulcie Dimmette Barlow in New York City. Carla received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Harp Performance from the University of Michigan where she studied with Lynne Aspnes and Joan Holland. She received her Master of Music Degree from the San Francisco Conservatory where she studied with Doug Rioth.
