Education & Community

Inspiring Young Musicians & Building Community

At The Santa Fe Symphony, we believe music is for everyone. Our Education & Community programs support students from early childhood through high school, bring music into public schools, and reach thousands through free community concerts.

Youth Music Classes

We offer year-round classes for beginner through advanced students in:

  • Orchestra

  • Jazz

  • Mariachi

  • Chorus

  • Chamber Music

  • Private Lessons

“Nothing compares to the camaraderie of playing with fellow musicians. Thank you for continuing to bring this to young people in classical music.”

— Youth Symphony Alumnus

Early Childhood Programs

We’re deepening our work with young children through two pilot offerings:

  • Lullaby Project: Parents and musicians co-write personal lullabies for their babies or toddlers (in partnership with the Santa Fe Children’s Museum).

  • ¡Música para todos los niños!: Music classes for 3–4 year olds at Kaune Early Learning Center, focused on movement and social-emotional growth!

Mentoring in Public Schools

Our musicians support Santa Fe Public School music classrooms with:

  • Sectionals

  • Group and individual lessons

  • Specialized instruction

This program reaches over 150 students each year and strengthens music education across the district.

Community Programming

We bring music into Santa Fe and beyond through:

  • Free concerts at senior centers, libraries, shelters, and public spaces

  • Pop-ups and early childhood music sessions

  • Performances by student ensembles

Our Impact

  • 300+ students in Youth Program classes

  • 150+ students mentored in public schools

  • Thousands reached annually through free concerts

  • 27% of students receive financial aid

  • No student turned away for financial reasons
