Join us for this once-in-a-lifetime SFS Strata chamber concert during our final weekend of the 40th Anniversary Season! Presenting GRAMMY® Award-winners Ana María Martínez—one of the foremost sopranos of her time—and pianist Craig Terry, along with Music Director Guillermo Figueroa on violin and viola and The Santa Fe Symphony Strata Quartet—violinists David Felberg and Ruxandra Marquardt, and cellist Joel Bechtell, and SFS percussionist Alexis Corbin.

Ana María Martínez‘ international career spans the world’s most important opera houses and concert halls. She is a winner of the 15th Annual Opera News Awards, her repertoire encompasses opera’s most intriguing and diverse leading ladies, and she engages her audiences season after season with signature roles, spellbinding debuts, and a myriad of captivating recordings. Craig Terry has an international performance career and recently won A GRAMMY® Award for “Best Classical Solo Vocal Album” for the recording he made with Joyce DiDonato, Songplay. He has served as the Jannotta Family Endowed Chair music director of Lyric’s Ryan Opera Center since 2013, after having previously spent 11 seasons with the company as an assistant conductor. Before coming to Lyric, he was an assistant conductor at the Metropolitan Opera after joining its Lindemann Young Artist Development Program.

Ana María Martínez, Soprano

This collaboration is not the first for Martínez and Maestro Figueroa, both of whom hail from Puerto Rico. Their past collaborations include performances at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center of Roberto Sierra’s “Beyond the Silence of Sorrow” with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra).
