“I couldn’t be more excited to join my dear friend and longtime musical partner Ana María Martínez and members of The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra later this season. The reputation of the organization and musicians is absolutely stellar, so when Emma called with the invitation, the only possible answer was an enthusiastic yes! I’m so looking forward to working with Ana María, Maestro Figueroa, and the Symphony Musicians to curate a fun and compelling musical experience for our audience.”
This collaboration is not the first for Martínez and Maestro Figueroa, both of whom hail from Puerto Rico. Their past collaborations include performances at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center of Roberto Sierra’s “Beyond the Silence of Sorrow” with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra).
“It will be an enormous pleasure and honor to perform with Ana María Martínez, one of the foremost singers of our times, a fellow Puerto Rican whom I’ve worked with several times in the past. That the orchestral concert will feature Berlioz and Beethoven, the two composers highest in my personal pantheon, is a guarantee that a glorious and unforgettable occasion is in store for us.”
