My name is Jacqueline Bell, and I am 16 years old. I currently attend Santa Fe High School and I am in 11th grade. Singing has always been my passion in life. When I am singing, in any setting, I feel like the world is a better place.

In addition to being a member of The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus, I am a member of the Young Voices of The Santa Fe Opera. The Young Voices has increased my adoration for music, and has been essential in refining my voice and repertoire. I have been in choir every year since I was in fourth grade. I have attended the All State mixed choir for two years in a row, and I’ve been to many honor choirs, masterclasses, and clinics.

Last summer I attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. At Tanglewood I studied voice for six weeks, and got to sing with the famous conductor and composer John Williams and the Boston Pops. When I was in Tanglewood I had an all access pass to all of the Boston symphony performances. This was an extremely amazing privilege, and I attended almost every single concert they had over the span of six weeks. Seeing these performances has definitely increased my love for classical music. In addition to singing I enjoy rock climbing, which I have been doing since I was four. Rock climbing is my favorite form of physical activity because it not only requires strength but also mental planning and puzzle solving. I also love to read and hike. Although I have other hobbies, music has been and always will be the biggest part of my life.
