Mary-Hollis Hundley, soprano, recently won first place in the Brava! James M. Collier Vocal Competition and received an Encouragement Award from the Wagner Society of New York. Her 2019-20 season included covering the title role in Jenůfa at the Santa Fe Opera, where she was awarded the Anna Case MacKay Memorial Award for Outstanding Apprentices. She was most recently seen in the world premiere of Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Fallen Giant with American Lyric Theater.

Mary-Hollis’ recent season highlights include Gertrud in Hänsel und Gretel at the Michigan Opera Theater, Magda Sorel in The Consul with Bronx Opera, Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Virginia Opera, and as a cover for Christine Brewer’s Ariadne auf Naxos at Kentucky Opera.

She has received awards from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, George London Foundation, Gerda Lissner Young Artist Institute, the Richard Gaddes Fund at the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, and Sarasota Opera Guild.

Mary-Hollis has been a member of many notable young artist programs, including the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis (covers of Susan Graham’s Regina and Vitellia in Titus), Teatro Nuovo (cover of Jennifer Rowley’s Medea in Corinto), Virginia Opera, Opera on the James, Des Moines Metro Opera and Sarasota Opera. Her other roles include Meg Page in Sir John in Love, Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Female Chorus in The Rape of Lucretia, Governess in The Turn of the Screw, and the title roles in Suor Angelica and Iolanta. She holds degrees from Mannes College at the New School for Music and the University of Kentucky.
