This first SFS Strata concert of the 2023–2024 Season is taking you to Fancy Town! Immerse yourself into a world of enchanting chamber works in the House of Eternal Return at Meow Wolf Santa Fe. Presenting fascinating works by diverse composers, Enchanté features The Santa Fe Symphony Wind Quartet: Laura Dwyer, Principal Flute; Elaine Heltman, Principal Oboe; Lori Lovato, Principal Clarinet; and Stefanie Przybylska, Principal Bassoon.

Arrive early! Doors open at 5:30 PM. Be transported into fantastic realms in the exhibit and experience unique, immersive art installations with multimedia elements before the concert. Your Enchante ticket includes entrance to the House of Eternal Return prior to the performance. 

The SFS Strata series was conceived of in 2019, evoking the layers of musical conversation seen in chamber music. We are thrilled to highlight unique venues such as Meow Wolf Santa Fe and diverse repertoire as an integral part of this series during this exciting 40th Anniversary Season. SFS Strata concerts are non-subscription events.

Laura Dwyer, Flute

Laura Dwyer served as the Principal Flute of the Sarasota Opera Orchestra for seven seasons. She has been a member of The Santa Fe Symphony since 2000 and the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra since 2008. Laura performs regularly with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, The Palm Beach Opera, the Florida Orchestra, the Phoenix Symphony, the Charleston Symphony and the Hilton Head Symphony.

Elaine Heltman, Oboe

The Santa Fe Symphony’s Principal Oboist, Elaine Heltman, hails from Saddle Brook, New Jersey, and graduated from Ithaca College School of Music. While leading a high school marching band in New Jersey, she also studied with Joseph Robinson, former Principal Oboe of the New York Philharmonic. In 1981, Elaine Heltman’s career as a professional oboist was ignited when she was appointed to the Filarmónica de Caracas, Venezuela. Greg Heltman joined her there on Valentine’s Day, 1981; they married in 1988 and have been inseparable ever since.

Lori Lovato, Clarinet

Lori Lovato is principal clarinetist for The Santa Fe Symphony. She also performs with New Mexico Philharmonic, Sphinx Symphony in Detroit, Performance Santa Fe Orchestra, San Juan Symphony, Opera Southwest Orchestra and Alter Ego Jazz Trio, and is a founding member of the New Mexico Woodwind Quintet. Lori has  appeared with the Napa Valley Festival del Sole, Albuquerque Chamber Soloists, Music at Angel Fire, Chamber Music Albuquerque, Chatter, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, Santa Fe Opera Orchestra, Santa Fe New Music, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Monterrey, Mexico, and the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players.

Stefanie-Przybylska

Stefanie Przybylska, Bassoon

Principal bassoonist with The Santa Fe Symphony, New Mexico Philharmonic and the New Mexico Symphony orchestras, Stefanie Przybylska has appeared as a featured soloist in works by Mozart and John Williams. Stefanie has performed with the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, Music in the Mountains (in Durango, Colorado) and with Chatter Sunday in Albuquerque. She co-founded and directed the Bosque Bassoon Band, a group composed of both amateur and professional bassoonists, dedicated to performing chamber music written for bassoon ensemble both at concert venues and at informal settings such as schools, hospitals and grower’s markets. The group has commissioned original works and performed at two International Double Reed Society conferences.
