Todd Ritterbush, Tenor
Electrical and computer engineer by day, actor-musician by night, New Mexico native Todd Ritterbush is clearly living his very best life. Singing in choruses started as a youngster, along with playing the piano, flute, tenor sax, tuba, percussion, and guitar—skills that made possible gigs as a keyboardist in a rock band or a drummer in a Celtic bagpipe band. But that’s not even scratching the surface.
Todd says a job with Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) drew him back to New Mexico. Recently, he was cast as Senator Maroney in the blockbuster film Oppenheimer (he’s featured in many of the black and white Senate Hearing scenes). He can also be seen as a background actor or as a stand-in in many films and mini-series shot in New Mexico. And if that weren’t enough, Todd also directs “Key of A,” an a cappella quartet, that sings the National Anthem and other patriotic music for sporting events such as Isotope baseball games, UNM Athletics, and for special tribute occasions. He also leads the singing of Christmas carols during the holidays.
While Todd also enjoys hiking, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and taking care of a small army of rescued pets, it is the joy and beauty of making music with others that fuels his soul. A longtime member of The Santa Fe Symphony Chorus, Todd says he is grateful to be associated with such an amazing and talented group of singers, along with the fortunate privilege to work and study with our incredible conductor Carmen Flórez-Mansi, who leads The Symphony Chorus.
