Mattéo Bitetti, Tenor

Mattéo Bitetti is an accomplished interior designer and head of Mattéo Designs, a firm that specializes in providing comprehensive design services and project management for full-scale renovations and new construction projects here in Santa Fe and throughout the country. After living in Manhattan, Stockholm, and Los Angeles, Mattéo bought a home near the Santa Fe Opera in 2021 to be closer to the art and culture he loves. 

In addition to his design work, Mattéo has an extensive background in the performing arts. He studied at the Mozarteum (International Summer Academy) in Salzburg, Austria; sang several years with the New York City Opera, and two years with the Folkoperan in Stockholm. His favorite composers are Puccini, Donizetti, Bizet, and other masters of the Bel Canto school. Accordingly, he has appeared at the Redlands Bowl Summer Festival, Hawaii Opera Theater, Opera Philadelphia, Palm Beach Opera, Indianapolis Opera and San Diego Opera, and elsewhere, singing such roles as Hoffmann in Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann, Don Jose in Bizet’s Carmen, Radames in Verdi’s Aida, Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Bohème, Rinuccio in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Alfred in Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus, Canio in Leoncavallo’s I Pagliacci, and Cavaradossi in Puccini’s Tosca.

He is new with The Santa Fe Symphony Chorus, joining us in time for the 2024-2025 season.
